CPC : CIVIL PROCEDURE CODE, 1908
INDEX :
📖 Introduction of CPC, 1908 (Easy Language)
The Civil Procedure Code, 1908 (CPC) is a law that tells us how civil cases are handled in courts. It does not give rights or duties by itself but gives a step-by-step process for getting justice in civil matters like property disputes, contracts, family cases, etc.
Before 1908, different parts of India had different rules, which caused confusion. To make one common system for the whole country, the CPC was made in 1908, and it came into force on 1 January 1909.
It has two main parts:
1. Sections (1–158) → General principles.
2. Orders & Rules → Detailed procedures (like how to file a case, how summons are served, how witnesses are examined, how judgments are given, etc.).
